Today’s Demo.

postcard.

This is a design I made late 2009. My best friend had moved to Tel Aviv a few months before. The photo used was one taken with my Holga 135, on 35mm slide film – fish eye lens at Byron Bay of my friend just before he left. The film was cross processed and expired when I developed it giving it the crazy blue effect. The lyrics on the postcard are from my favorite song, Today’s Demo or The Distance – originally by Moondog / Gorilla Biscuits but redone acoustically by Gorilla Biscuits guitarists Walter Shreifels in his solo project. Still feeling the distance./////////

  1. Ohhh incredible image I love the effect of the cross processing & expired film, has such a timeless feel with the blue saturation, what a beautiful gift…

  2. I like the distressed look of some of the text, the angles, the way parts of the type disappear, the way the letters are set in the film strip, and how it all pulls together with the emotional impact of the photograph.

  3. The depth of the fish eye lens, the result of the film processing , the text, the image as a whole is very effective… I feel sad and I’m feeling the distance too.

  4. I really like this one Chris, definatly your unique style. It’s great!
